The Georgia Department of Labor announced Thursday that the two-county Hinesville Metropolitan Statistical Area recorded an unemployment rate of 4.1% in July, down one-tenth over the month. A year ago, the rate was 4.3%.

By investing in our workforce and supporting a strong environment for business, Georgia will continue to win and drive economic growth for all Georgians.”
The labor force in Hinesville decreased by 60 and ended the month at 30,953. That number decreased by 454 compared to July 2024.
Hinesville finished July with 29,683 employed residents, down 23 from the previous month and 367 from July 2024.
