A brand-new Savannah-based honey and wellness beverage company, Neighborhood Nectar, is making a sweet debut on the national stage after being selected to vend at the USDA’s Great American Farmers Market in Washington, D.C. The brand will be vending at the National Mall through the end of the event on Friday, August 8, offering fresh, small-batch products to visitors from around the country.

Hosted by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Great American Farmers Market showcases farmers from across the nation. The event celebrates 250 years of American agriculture, providing a platform for producers to share their craft with thousands of attendees.

Neighborhood Nectar is making its official public debut at the market with two flagship products:

  • Golden Glow Elixir – a handcrafted herbal honey beverage infused with turmeric, ginger, hibiscus, lemon, and spring water

  • Wildflower Honey – raw, small-batch honey sourced from the Southeast

U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins and U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Scott Turner stopped by the Neighborhood Nectar booth to meet founder Sade Shofidiya, learn about the brand, and purchase products in support of its launch.

Founded by first-generation beekeeper and environmental advocate Sade Shofidiya, the brand was created to promote wellness,  and highlight the role of bees in building resilient food systems.

“This is my very first event and my official launch for Neighborhood Nectar,” said Shofidiya. “To be selected to vend here, in such a historic space, alongside so many incredible farmers—it means everything. We’re proud to represent Georgia, pollinators, and purpose-driven food.”

As a proud Georgia Grown company, Neighborhood Nectar is committed to supporting regional agriculture, sourcing ingredients locally whenever possible, and contributing to the future of sustainable Southern foodways.
