SouthCoast Health, a medical leader across the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry, welcomes primary care provider Dr. Nicholas Carbo to its expanding team of healthcare professionals. Dr. Carbo is now seeing new patients at the SouthCoast Health Savannah campus located at 1326 Eisenhower Drive, Building 1.

As an internist and primary care physician, Dr. Carbo oversees the comprehensive care of his adult patients, treating a wide spectrum of diseases. He combines his well-rounded knowledge and skill, and constant adherence to evolving best practices with a deep sense of respect for the privilege of practicing medicine. 

“I have a real appreciation for the power and influence we have in healthcare as physicians to make an impact on patients’ lives,” Dr. Carbo explains. “People really allow us to be a part of their lives, and they trust us at some of their most vulnerable times. And having the ability to employ both my interest in science and physiology, coupled with the influence we have on people, is really what drew me to medicine.”

A Savannah native, Dr. Carbo earned his medical degree at Mercer University School of Medicine in Savannah. He completed his internal medicine residency at Memorial Health University Medical Center, where he served as chief resident. Additionally, Dr. Carbo has experience in research and presenting at medical conferences.

“I just enjoy people,” he says. “They can really tell when you are listening, and being a good primary care physician requires you to be an excellent listener.
