Thomas & Hutton Celebrates Newly Licensed Professional Engineer in Georgia

Thomas & Hutton (T&H), a 100%-employee-owned, privately held
professional services firm known for its award-winning culture and nearly 80 years of shaping
communities across the Southeast, is pleased to announce its newest Professional Engineer (PE) in
Georgia. Alexis Scheele, PE, of T&H’s Savannah office, passed the Principles and Practices of Engineering
Civil exam and satisfied the experience requirements needed to become a PE.
Alexi holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering from Florida Gulf Coast University and
recently completed her Master of Science in Coastal Engineering at the Florida Institute of Technology.
With three years of prior civil and environmental engineering experience and one year at Thomas &
Hutton, Alexis contributes valuable expertise to the Water Resources team. She is proficient in Civil3D,
ArcPro/ArcMap, and PCSWMM, with additional experience in HY-8, Hydraflow Express, and HEC-RAS.
Her project portfolio includes hydrologic modeling and flood studies across the Southeast. Notably, she
supported stormwater modeling and proposed improvements for the Carver Village stormwater
network in Savannah and contributed to site design for Georgia Power Company substations. She also
conducted floodplain analyses for the Catawba Ridge development in South Carolina and assessed tidal
flooding along Sheffield Island Road in Camden County, Georgia.
Alexis looks forward to continuing to support the region’s growing communities through her technical
expertise and commitment to high-quality, sustainable development. Her PE licensure marks a
significant milestone and underscores Thomas & Hutton’s dedication to professional excellence.
