Union Mission Spreads Holiday Hope with 500 Free Meals
Monday, December 15th, 2025
On Thursday, December 18th, Union Mission will serve hot to-go meals to families and individuals experiencing homelessness from 11:00am – 1:00pm at Union Mission’s administrative parking lot at 125 Fahm Street. This event is free and open to the public.
Union Misson’s Holiday Meal is made possible through the generosity of local partners, including Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation and Sodexo, and the dedication of over 50 volunteers. Together, they are creating a welcoming environment where people can enjoy a hot meal, access to free clothing and on-site healthcare clinics, housing and employment resources, and food bag distributions provided by J.C. Lewis Healthcare and Compassion Christian Church.
“Our community comes together during the holidays to make a real difference,” says Michael Traynor, President & CEO of Union Mission. “Union Mission is proud to partner with so many in our community to assist those in need. A simple act of kindness can have a lasting impact, and we’re grateful for the generosity that makes this event possible.”
Union Mission was able to partner with multiple businesses, churches, and community members to provide holiday gifts to 135 children and 145 adults within their comprehensive programs. With the generous support of Savannah College of Art & Design, Optim Healthcare, J.C. Lewis Ford & Mazda, Current Edge Solutions, Matson Logistics, and Coastal Consulting Management Group, and many other Secret Santa participants; Union Mission was able to make the holidays a little brighter for our most vulnerable neighbors.
Union Mission believes care and support are important courses of action throughout the year, not just during the holiday season. With winter upon us, it brings bitter winds and cold nights. Union Mission will open the doors to allow additional homeless individuals to stay when the temperature drops below 40 degrees. Hats, gloves, sleeping bags, toiletries and personal care items in addition to men’s clothing are currently still needed. Donations can be dropped off at 125 Fahm Street between Monday – Thursday from 10:00am to 4:00pm.
In 2024, Union Mission served 1,334 individuals with 185,295 nights of housing and 262,866 meals. Through our programs and supportive services, we helped transition 773 men, women and children in Savannah to safe and stable housing.
