Staff Report From Georgia CEO

Thursday, July 30th, 2026

The City of Savannah’s Cultural Resources Department is seeking applicants for the next cohort of students for the 2026-2027 Junior Cultural Affairs Commission (Jr. CAC) program.

Jr. CAC is a companion program to the Cultural Affairs Commission (CAC), an 18-member board appointed by the mayor and aldermen which advises and recommends arts and cultural programming for the City of Savannah. Jr. CAC is designed to offer school-aged youth an opportunity to help shape arts and culture locally. Appointed participants will review cultural contribution-funded programs and provide input regarding the effects of art and cultural programming on youth and their communities.

Applications will be accepted from Aug. 3 through Aug. 31. Students who are selected for Jr. CAC may earn volunteer service hours, as they work to help develop future art, culture, and history programming for the City of Savannah.

Interested students and parents may learn more and apply at //savannahga.gov/jrcac.
