CURE Childhood Cancer Launches 2026 Flag Campaign to Bring Hope to Communities Across Georgia

Staff Report From Georgia CEO

Tuesday, July 14th, 2026

CURE Childhood Cancer is inviting communities across Georgia to once again stand together in support of children battling cancer through the return of its annual CURE Flags campaign. Supporters can now preorder this year's limited-edition garden flag, with proceeds helping fund groundbreaking pediatric cancer research and critical family support services.

Each September, during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, thousands of CURE Flags are displayed in neighborhoods, businesses, schools and communities as a visible reminder that every child's fight against cancer deserves unwavering support. The campaign also raises vital funds to advance research and provide resources for families navigating a childhood cancer diagnosis.

This year's flag carries a meaningful message. The 2026 design features original artwork created by Banks, age 8, and Malorie, age 15, two courageous young girls currently battling childhood cancer. Their creativity and resilience serve as the inspiration behind this year's campaign, reminding supporters that hope can shine even in life's most difficult moments.

"Every flag represents more than support. It represents hope for children and families facing childhood cancer," said Mandy Garola, Vice President, South Georgia. "When someone displays a CURE Flag, they're helping fund lifesaving research while reminding every family in the fight that they are not alone."

Community members can purchase flags online beginning today, July 8th, through September 8th, or while supplies last. Flags will be available for local pickup or delivery beginning August 21, giving supporters plenty of time to proudly display them throughout Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in September.

Individuals interested in expanding the campaign's reach are also encouraged to become Flag Captains, helping coordinate sales and distribution within their neighborhoods, schools, businesses or organizations. Flag Captains have become the heart of the campaign, making it possible for thousands of flags to be displayed across Georgia and beyond each year.
