The Savannah-Chatham County Public School System is proud to announce that Board of Education District 1 Representative Denise Grabowski has been elected to serve on the Board of Directors of the Georgia School Boards Association (GSBA). Grabowski was elected to the GSBA Board of Directors during the Association’s 2026 Summer Conference and Delegate Assembly and will represent GSBA Region 1 on the statewide board.
The GSBA Board of Directors provides leadership and strategic direction for the Association, which serves Georgia’s locally elected boards of education through advocacy, governance training, policy services, and resources that support student success. As a member of the Board of Directors, Grabowski will help shape the Association’s priorities while representing the interests of school districts throughout Region 1.
“I am honored by the opportunity to serve on the GSBA Board of Directors and represent both Region 1 and the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System,” said Grabowski. “Strong local governance plays an essential role in student success, and I look forward to collaborating with school board leaders from across Georgia to advocate for public education and share ideas that strengthen our schools and communities.”
Superintendent S. Denise Watts, Ed.D., said Grabowski’s election reflects her commitment to public education and servant leadership. “Mrs. Grabowski has consistently demonstrated a passion for students, thoughtful leadership, and a collaborative approach to governance,” said Dr. Watts. “Her election to the GSBA Board of Directors is a well-deserved honor and provides an opportunity for Savannah-Chatham County’s voice to help shape educational leadership across our state. We are proud to see her represent our district in this important role.”
Savannah-Chatham Board President Roger Moss agrees, “We are very proud that the GSBA will have a strong advocate in Denise Grabowski. Her work with the organization will strengthen our local board and provide a direct connection to this statewide agency.”
Grabowski’s election reflects the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System’s commitment to educational excellence, effective governance, and collaboration with school leaders throughout Georgia. Through her service on the GSBA Board of Directors, she will help advance initiatives that support local boards of education while strengthening opportunities for students across the state.
