Savannah Voice Festival and Savannah Opera Presents: Mozart's "The Magic Flute"

For their 14 th  annual season, themed Sunny Days and Starry Nights, the Savannah VOICE Festival (SVF) and Savannah OPERA will present the two-act opera, Mozart’s “The Magic Flute” at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 15 at Asbury Memorial Church.  

“The Magic Flute,” translated from German “Die Zauberflöte,” is a famous opera with music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and a libretto by Emanuel Schikaneder. Join Prince Tamino and bird catcher Papageno as the Queen of the Night sends them on a journey to rescue fair Pamina from the sorcerer Sarastro although not everything is always as it seems. This well-loved opera, conducted by Artistic Director Andrew Bisantz, is sung in German with English dialogue and features some of the most recognizable music in opera. The production stars Savannah favorites Eric Sebek as Tamino, Emma Petersen as Pamina, Benjamin Sokol as Sarastro, Henry Drangel as Monostatos, and Melanie Spector as the Queen of the Night. The SVF Studio fills out the rest of the large cast.
