Businesses from the 10-county region have donated $51,000 to Leadership Southeast Georgia for its five-month leadership development program in 2019.
Sponsors include Evans General Contractors, Gulfstream Aerospace, Advanced Door Systems, The Sack Company, Georgia Power, Georgia Southern University, the Savannah Airport Commission, LS3P ASSOCIATES, LTD. and FirstPage Marketing.
“These businesses make Leadership Southeast Georgia possible,” said LSEGA chairman Lee Beckmann. “The cost of each session and all the work that goes on year-round to support this annual program costs more than participant tuition alone can cover. Sponsorships like these are necessary to maximize the value and impact of the experience for each class.”
For Evans General Contractors, 2019 marks the third consecutive year the international firm with offices in Atlanta and Savannah has generously supported the LSEGA program at a leading level.
“As a graduate of Leadership Southeast Georgia, I understand the significance of this program first-hand,” said Jesse Bentley, the firm’s Savannah division manager. “I am better equipped to not only be a leader in my industry but make an impact in this region because of what I learned as a participant. My hope is that by becoming a sponsor, others will experience the same growth and challenges.”
Leadership Southeast Georgia began 20 years ago when civic and business leaders in 10 southeast Georgia counties collaborated to create a program to promote community and economic development, build relationships and improve the quality of life throughout the region.
The annual five-month program is designed to develop the potential of its participants through education and networking events throughout the region. The class of 2019 has 25 members from the following counties: Bryan, Bulloch, Camden, Chatham, Effingham, Glynn, Liberty, Long, McIntosh and Screven.
