65th Annual Savannah Greek Festival This Weekend

Staff Report From Savannah CEO

Thursday, October 8th, 2015

This year, Savannah’s Greek Festival will be taking place October 8th, 9th, and 10th at 14 W Anderson Street from 11:00a.m. to 9:00p.m. at St. Paul’s Greek Orthodox Church’s Hellenic Center. With everything from gyros to Greek dancers, this is a festival you will not want to miss.

Stop by and enjoy authentic Greek dishes, as well as delicious pastries, and other  groceries from the “agora” or market. One of the best parts of the festival is by far the food. This year we've added even more pastried - ravani, melomakarona, karithopeta AND returning for a second year the delicious eggplant dish - moussaka as well as a new souvlaki grill in the courtyard area.

One of the biggest draws that the Greek Festival has to offer is the dancing. There is an adult dance group as well as a children’s dance group that perform all throughout the festival while wearing traditional Greek costumes.

A new addition this year is the option to order food online (www.savannahgreekfest.com). Select what you want to eat and pay online, and then stop by the Hellenic Center at your designated time and pick it up.

There will also be door prizes and a raffle at the end of the festival (need not be present to win).
