As part of the Savannah Children’s Choir’s 10th anniversary season, Brasseler USA presents the Vienna Boys Choir in concert on Saturday, October 17 at 7 p.m. at the Armstrong Fine Arts Auditorium.  Tickets are available at Savannah Box Office, online at savannahboxoffice.com or by calling (912) 525-5050.  Tickets are $25, $45, $65 or $100 VIP reserved.  Student tickets are $15.

“The Vienna Boys Choir is the world’s preeminent children’s choir,” comments Roger Moss, SCC co-founder.  “As part of our 10th anniversary celebration, we want to highlight some of the iconic music and events from our past decade, and this is top of the list,” he continued.

The choir, established by Emperor Maximilian I of Hapsburg in July 1498, was created to provide musical accompaniment during church mass.  The choir has worked with some of the world’s most famous composers over the years, including Mozart, Schubert and Bruckner.  Today’s choir is made up of approximately 100 boy choristers between the ages of 10 and 14, who are divided into four touring choirs. While mostly Austrian in its makeup, the choir also welcomes singers from other countries.

“We’re thrilled to bring this amazing choir back to Savannah to kick off our 10th anniversary year, and excited to present them at the Armstrong Fine Arts Auditorium,” comments Cuffy Sullivan, SCC co-founder.  “This is one of the finest performance halls in the area, with excellent acoustics and sight lines – there’s literally not a bad seat in the house!”
