Staff Report From Savannah CEO
Friday, October 2nd, 2015
The 2016 Critz Tybee Run Fest is excited to announce the new race director for the 2016 weekend.
After the sudden passing of Robert Espinoza, longtime race director of the Critz Tybee Run Fest and owner of Fleet Feet Sports Savannah, Chris Ramsey will be taking over as race director for the 2016 CRITZ TYBEE RUN FEST.
Ramsey has helped Espinoza with the Critz Tybee Run Fest since 2011 and has played a major role in coordinating other Savannah and Low Country race events.
With his years of experience, the organizers are confident that the race will continue to be a great success.
“I’m very excited to keep the tradition of the Critz Tybee Run Fest going while honoring Robert’s legacy,” says Ramsey.
The event will take place February 5th-6th, 2016. Participants will have the option to race the North Beach Bar & Grill 5K, the Optim Healthcare 10K, the Chu’s Half Marathon, the Lighthouse Pizza 2.8 mile Beach Run, or the YMCA 1 mile run, for a combined distance of 26.2 miles – a full marathon.
The smallest runners can participate too, and show their love for running by participating in the Basil’s Kiddie Run.
“We are fortunate that Chris Ramsey is carrying on the great work of much-loved race director Robert Espinoza,” says Dale Critz Jr., founder and main sponsor of the event. “Everyone is looking forward to the 2016 Critz Tybee Run Fest events.”
The Critz Tybee Run Fest is bound to delight all participants, as it has prior years, under its new leadership.
