Ice Cream Social to be Held on Savannah State Campus Oct. 23rd

Staff Report From Savannah CEO

Friday, October 16th, 2015

An ice cream social will be held in front of Asa Gordon Library from 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. on Friday, October 23. The event is themed for the celebration of 125 years of Savannah State University.

Major Richard R. Wright, first president of SSU, was known to his family as a devotee of ice cream. In honor of him, vanilla, chocolate and strawberry ice cream will be served.

Activities will include outdoor games such as lawn Jenga and some inspired by the 1890s, like hula hoops and jump ropes. There will also be a photo booth with vintage-style props and hats.

The event is free and open to the public and all members of the SSU community are welcome to attend.
