J.C. Lewis Primary Health Care Center, a nonprofit organization providing affordable health care services to individuals in the Savannah community, hosted and open house and ribbon cutting event to celebrate the opening J.C. Lewis Primary Health Care Pediatric Center.

The new pediatric center, located at 3802 Waters Avenue, will allow J.C. Lewis to expand its health care services to the organization’s growing number of pediatric patients. According to Aretha Jones, CEO of J.C. Lewis, the new pediatric center will provide health care services to over 2000 patients.

“Last year alone, J.C. Lewis provided medical treatment to more than 9,500 citizens, with more than 32,000 medical encounters,” said Jones. “On a daily basis, our parking lot and waiting room are overflowing with uninsured, underinsured or persons experiencing homelessness who seek the quality health care J.C. Lewis is able provide.”

The addition of the new pediatric center will help alleviate the pressure on the modest-sized healthcare center located on Fahm St. J.C. Lewis acquired the building and pediatric practice from Dr. Greer Larned, who has provided health care services to pediatric patients for over 25 years.

“We couldn’t be more excited for this incredible opportunity to bring affordable healthcare to the Midtown area,” said Jones. “We are looking forward to meeting our new families and developing those relationships for many years to come.”
